Biography
Born under the wide skies of Iowa on 8 October 1876, Richard Stanton first trod the boards, then stepped behind the camera to shape the stories others only watched. Between 1915 and 1920 he steered Graft through its shadows, unleashed the primal pulse of The Beast in 1916, and orchestrated the serial whirlwind of Bride 13. When the final reel spun out, he remained in Los Angeles, where he died on 22 May 1956, leaving the city’s lights to remember him.
