Biography

Before talkies had found their voice, Robert Harvey had already slipped in and out of history on celluloid. In 1914 he stepped into The Active Life of Dolly of the Dailies, chasing crime and headlines as the first reel adventures of the daring newspaperwoman unspooled. Four years and a world war later, he resurfaced in 1919’s Shadows, trading newsprint intrigue for darker moods. That same watershed year he walked the corridors of fallen empires in The Great Victory, Wilson or the Kaiser? The Fall of the Hohenzollerns, witnessing—at least on film—the collapse of a dynasty.
