Biography
July 1885 found Roy Gahris drawing his first breath amid the cornfields of Seneca County, Ohio; by 1915 he had stepped in front of the camera for *The Game of Three*, launching a whirlwind career that ricocheted between acting and directing. Two quicksilver years later he confronted *The Yellow Menace*, then saddled up for *Trooper 44* in 1917, each silent reel adding another layer to his growing legend. The final curtain fell in 1943 when, far south in Dade County, Florida, the lights dimmed on the man who had once kept nickelodeon audiences leaning forward in their seats.
