Biography
Roy Hauck first drew breath on 20 September 1902 in Norwood, Ohio, a small town that could never have guessed it had just produced a silent-screen face. Within a dozen years he was in front of the camera, lending his presence to Her Big Brother and The Million Dollar Mystery, both released in 1914, and to Right Off the Bat the following season. Off-screen he shared his life with two wives—Bessie Pierce and, later, Alberta “Bertha” Ferguson. Eighty-one years after that Ohio morning, his story closed quietly on 5 December 1983 in San Diego, California.
