Biography
Seventeen April 1888: Canada greets a restless bundle named Royal Douglas. By 1915, the young transplanted Canadian is already trading glances with the camera, slipping through three one-reelers in rapid succession—the con-game caper Frauds, the key-swapping farce A Bunch of Keys, and the feather-light morality tale The Fable of the Two Unfettered Birds. Less than a decade later, the curtain drops: 19 June 1924, Cleveland, Ohio, and Douglas exits the frame at thirty-six.
