Biography
A Christmas-week baby, Rudge Harding first drew breath on 5 December 1861 amid the frost-laced hedgerows of Elvetham, Hampshire. Years later he stepped before the flickering cameras of early British cinema, sealing his name to the 1914 fantasy The Brass Bottle. Off-screen he claimed lifelong kinship with Florence Mary Pott, the woman who became his wife. His final curtain fell on 24 April 1932, within the restless hum of London, the city that had long been his professional home.
