Biography
Sarah began acting at age 17 in Otis Skinner's acting company. In 1898, she appeared in the play A Soldier of Fortune, in New York City. She toured around the United States in Skinner's acting company for more than a decade. In 1915, she appeared in the silent movie Jordan is a Hard Road with Dorothy Gish. In 1916, Sarah played Portia in a benefit performance of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, with actors Tyrone Powers and Douglas Fairbanks,Sr. and others. In 1919, Sarah acted in another silent movie, Fool's Gold. 1949,Sarah Truax wrote a memoir about her days as an actress, called A Woman of Parts: Memories of a Life on the Stage. Sarah and her husband Charles Stanley Albert had one daughter, Drusilla Ruth Albert, born in 1909.
