Biography
In 1915, while Europe’s attention was fixed on the Western Front, a young Roman named Serafino Vite slipped in front of the camera and stayed long enough to haunt three silent reels: La figlia del galeotto, Viaggio a grande velocità, and the aptly titled Notte tragica. Then, like the flicker of a kerosene lamp, he vanished, leaving the century to remember him only by the tremor of his name on those intertitles.
