A Brulé Lakota born on the Rosebud Reservation, Short Bull rode from the Great Plains to the flicker of early Hollywood—first facing the camera in 1914 for The Indian Wars, then saddling up again three years later beside Buffalo Bill for The Adventures of Buffalo Bill, sealing his place as one of silent-era cinema’s first Native performers.
