Biography
Born in Denmark on 25 September 1881, Sigurd Wantzin split his creative life between the page and the screen, scripting and starring in silent-era stories that flickered across early Danish cinemas. Audiences remember him from the treasure-hunt caper Hatten med Skatten (1918), the tempestuous drama Lidenskabens Magt (1915) and the fate-driven tale Ledestjernen (1916). After four decades of shaping Denmark’s young film scene, he died in his homeland on 30 June 1957.
