Biography
A May-day child of 1874, Stanley Dark first drew breath amid the clang and clamour of London. Within four decades he had slipped before the camera, gifting the fledgling screen three surviving gems: the flirtatious whirl of *Green Stockings* (1916), the steadfast pulse of *Moral Courage* (1917), and the tender tug-of-war in *Man and His Angel* (1916).
