Biography
Stephen Purdee stepped in front of the camera when movies still had that new-reel smell: 1913 found him in The Adventure of an Heiress, followed swiftly by the crime-stained short Tell-Tale Stains in 1914. A year later he slipped into the glow of The Luring Lights, sealing his flicker-film legacy while the silent era was still learning how to speak.
