Biography
Born under the midsummer sun of 30 June 1884, Svend Rindom grew up to spin stories that leapt from the page to the screen. A Dane to the marrow, he first flickered into cinemas as the writer—and occasional performer—behind the 1911 adventure Skæbnebæltet. Three decades later he was still at it, scripting the rural romance Naar bønder elsker (1942) and capping his career with the backstage comedy Hans store aften (1946). Off-screen he shared his life with actress Ellen Rindom, his partner in marriage and, often, in the footlights. After 76 years of plots well told, he took his final bow in Denmark on 11 December 1960.
