Biography
Born along the Hudson on 4 May 1879, Ten Eyck Clay carried the quiet swagger of Rensselaer, New York, into the flickering dawn of cinema. His lone surviving footprint on film is the 1915 comedy The Other Girl, a single credit that still flickers in silent-era archives. He never left the river town that first cradled him; on 14 August 1939 he returned to its soil, the same streets that had watched him leave for Hollywood and quietly welcome him home.
