Biography
A Hoosier arrival on September 7, 1889, launched Tex Driscoll from the quiet streets of Center, Indiana, toward the flickering lights of silent-era Hollywood. Between 1914 and 1922 he rode across the screen—first as a British earle adapting to the American frontier in The Squaw Man, then as the farm-raised dreamer of The Country Boy, and finally through the dust and legends of In the Days of Buffalo Bill. Fifty-one years after his cinematic debut, the final curtain fell on June 1, 1970, in Los Angeles, closing the long reel on a cowboy who helped shape early American film.
