Biography
Before the talkies ever spoke, Thomas Riley stepped in front of the crank-handled cameras of the mid-1910s and punched his way into silent-cinema history. In 1915 he starred in The Fight, then traded the ring for slapstick larceny, returning to screens in 1917 as the hapless hero of both Jerry and the Burglars and Jerry's Star Bout—three quick releases that cemented his fleeting but indelible place among early Hollywood’s pioneering players.
