Biography
Pennsylvania welcomed Todd Wright on 4 November 1892, and before the year 1914 had folded its calendar, he had already slipped into the Emerald City—twice. First as part of The Patchwork Girl of Oz, then again beside His Majesty, the Scarecrow of Oz, he helped stitch L. Frank Baum’s fantastical muslin to the silent screen. After those brief, bright flashes in Kansas-tinged Technicolor dreams, Wright stepped away from the cameras and into ordinary time, living quietly until 16 August 1966, when he took his final bow in Long Beach, California.
