Before the talkies took over, Tom Brooke flickered across nickelodeon screens in a trio of one-reel wonders: he stirred up comic chaos in 1916’s *The Mischief Maker*, bowed to silent-era royalty in 1915’s *The Goddess*, and slipped into the glass-slipper frenzy of 1917’s *A Modern Cinderella*.
