Biography
Distinguished Norwegian stage actress, best remembered as an outstanding Nora in "A Doll's House" (Ibsen), a role she also played in Stockholm, Paris, Vienna, and in America. Stage debut back in 1921, she later became a leading actress at The National Theatre in Oslo. Among her many great performances were Desdemona/Ophelia/Mrs. Alving/Gina Ekdal/Josie Hogan and the title role in Brecht's: "The Mother". In film she had a great performance in: "Øyeblikket" from 1977, after a long absence from the screen, sadly her film and Tv appearances were few. In 1959 she wrote a book about her touring in America: "Med luft under vingene" published by Aschehoug Forlag.
