Biography
On a summer day in Copenhagen—14 August 1880—Viggo Larsen entered the world, little guessing the silent stories he would one day place on flickering screens. Behind the camera he shaped Der Eid des Stephan Huller (1912) and the patriotic short Das Kriegslied der Rheinarmee (1914); in front of it he haunted audiences as The Grey Lady (1909). More than four decades after his last reel spun through a projector, he closed his own final scene in the same Danish city, 6 January 1957.
