Biography
A Hoosier midwinter brought Walker Whiteside into the world on 16 March 1869, in Logansport, Indiana. He grew into a commanding stage-and-screen presence, stamping early cinema with performances in The Melting Pot (1915), The Belgian (1918) and the newsreel vignette Animated Weekly, No. 27 (1912). Off-camera he shared his life with actress Leila Wolston McCord. His final curtain fell on 17 August 1942, in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York.
