Biography
Melbourne, 1905: a city of trams and gaslight welcomed Wallace Scott on 18 September. By the age of ten he was already facing klieg lights, stealing scenes in the Civil-War melodrama Barbara Frietchie (1915). Three decades later he swapped hoop skirts for loincloths, tangling with jungle predators as part of Tarzan and the Huntress (1947), then shipped out again for the South-China seas in Captain China (1950). The cameras finally closed on his life 8 May 1970, among the almond groves of Stanislaus County, California.
