Biography
December 1866: a winter baby drawn to footlights arrives in Vancouver, British Columbia. By 1915 Walter Belasco is slipping on the well-polished shoes of Lord John for two brisk adventures—*Lord John in New York* and its sequel *Lord John's Journal*—then galloping from the Great White Way to royal intrigue in 1916’s *From Broadway to a Throne*. Off-screen he shares a life with Maudie E. McNeill, the woman who becomes Mrs. Belasco. The final curtain falls on 21 June 1939 in San Francisco, California, but the flicker of those three surviving films keeps his pulse alive in the dark.
