Biography
Knoxville, 1863: the curtain rose on Walter Craven’s first breath, and for the next fifty-five years he never left the stage. Between 1913 and 1917 he strode through celluloid history—armored for Ivanhoe, hunted in Kidnapped, commanding in The Dictator—while off-screen he shared the spotlight with his wife, actress Helene Craven. The final blackout came on 25 November 1918, still in Knoxville, the city that had both opened and closed his act.
