Biography
Before talkies had found their voice, W.D. Fischter was already coaxing stories out of silence. In 1914 he booked passage to two separate cinematic worlds—first the moral maze of As Ye Sow, then the stark heartbreak of Dan—only to return four years later to guide Edith Wharton’s glittering tragedy, The House of Mirth, onto the flickering screen of 1918.
