Biography
Will S. Davis entered the world in 1882 and quickly traded daylight for the flicker of silent-film sets. Behind the camera he steered three now-legendary one-reelers into existence: the shadow-laden thriller *Destruction*, the domestic noir *The Family Stain*—both unleashed in 1915—and the twist-heavy *The Victim* the following year. Writing and directing with equal nerve, Davis shaped early cinema’s dark corners before his own light was snuffed out on 19 November 1920.
