Biography
Seventh of December, 1877: a future face of the silent screen first opened his eyes in the bustle of New York City. The boy who became William Roselle stepped before the cameras to haunt the first cinematic Moonstone in 1915, chase Gloria through her 1916 Romance, and hunt for a suitable sinner in 1920. Off-screen, he pledged himself to actress Rose Winter. Fifty-eight years after that Manhattan birth, the curtain rang down on 1 June 1945, again in New York, sealing the final reel of a life written in flickers and light.
