Biography
Before the world had heard of Chaplin, William Vaughn stalked the flicker-lit shadows of 1914–15, leaving three one-reel shocks in his wake: The Brute, a punch-throttled saloon brawl; The Unseen Vengeance, a cloak-and-dagger whisper shot in the dead of night; and, crowning that brief blaze, The Man Who Beat Dan Dolan, the 1915 showdown that put his name on marquees just as the silent era began to roar.
