Biography
Winona Brown stepped in front of the camera during the nickelodeon boom, lending her presence to three one-reelers in rapid succession. In 1914 she braved swords and sandals for the biblical drama Even Unto Death; the following year she donned a crisp uniform opposite the title hero of Captain Courtesy and traded barbs in the breezy domestic comedy When Quality Meets. Then, almost as quickly as she arrived, she vanished from the flicker-lit spotlight, leaving only those 1915 title cards to remember her by.
