In 1915, while the rest of the world was marching to war, Wynn Davidson stepped in front of a crank camera and helped wrangle a cast of four-footed scene-stealers for “The Bulldogs of the Trail.” One brisk shoot later, his name slipped onto the flickering title card—and into the footnotes of cinema history.
