Biography
A farmer’s son from Garamkisalló—today the quiet Slovak village of Salov—Zoltán Gálosi first drew breath on 26 September 1886. Between those hillside vineyards and the capital’s klieg lights he built a career that flickered across early Hungarian cinema: he rode the steppes as the reckless herdsman in Sárga csikó (1914), hunted forbidden prey in A vadorzó (1918), and traded jokes with street urchins in the bittersweet Palika (1918). Four decades later, on a snowy 20 December 1960, the final curtain fell for him in Budapest, but the nitrate still crackles with his restless energy.
