Biography
Agnes Castle first drew breath on 21 April 1862 in Maryborough, County Laois—then part of the United Kingdom. Alongside her husband, Egerton Castle, she spun stories that leapt from page to screen: the mischievous "Sweet Kitty Bellairs" first charmed readers in 1914, returned in a 1916 film, and danced again in a 1930 talkie. After six decades of storytelling, she died in April 1922 in Genoa, Italy, leaving her spirited heroines behind to keep the adventure alive.
