Biography
Alexander F. Frank entered the world in 1866 on English soil, then spent the silent-film dawn steering stories through the flicker of early cinema. Behind the camera he shaped marital mistrust in 1914’s A Suspicious Wife, inked mystery into 1915’s The Tattooed Man, and splashed bold hues across that same year’s In Raw Color. His final fade-out came on 14 December 1939 in Long Island City, New York, closing the reel on a life that helped write the grammar of moving pictures.
