Biography
Alf Nielsen entered the world on 4 November 1883 and spent the next eighty-seven years carving a quiet legend on both sides of the camera. Audiences first felt his pulse-racing timing in I sidste Sekund (1913), then shivered at the doom-laden chimes of Dødsklokken (1914), before watching him unleash the cunning master-thief in Den ny Rocambole (1917). Actor, director, conjurer of early-cinema illusions, Nielsen kept working until the curtain fell on 14 February 1971.
