Biography
On 6 September 1875, Boston’s cobblestone streets welcomed Arthur Chesney Train, a storyteller who would one day trade courtrooms for cinema screens. Three decades later, moviegoers met his imagination in *Rose of the South* (1916); a decade after that, *The Blind Goddess* (1926) unfurled his plots like a legal brief set on fire, followed by the smoke-and-mirrors intrigue of *Illusion* (1929). Train’s pen finally rested on 22 December 1945, closing the case of an American life lived between verdicts and velvet curtains.
