In 1914 Arthur Shaw Clifton stepped before the camera and never really stepped away, lending his presence to The Ragged Earl and The Idler in the same breathless year, then riding straight into 1915 to appear in The Girl I Left Behind Me—three quick flashes on the nascent screen that still carry his name.
