Biography
Albany, New York, greeted the arrival of Charles King on 12 October 1844, and from that cradle he would carve twin careers on page and stage. While audiences today remember the weathered authority he brought to the 1925 trio of frontier pictures—A Daughter of the Sioux, Tonio, Son of the Sierras, and Warrior Gap—King’s life off-screen was anchored by his marriage to Adelaide Yorke. Nearly nine decades after his birth, his story closed quietly in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on 17 March 1933.
