Biography
Chicago greeted Daniel Carson Goodman on 24 August 1881, and by the Roaring Twenties he was busy shaking up movie marquees. Between 1920 and 1923 he hurled three cinematic hand grenades—Thoughtless Women, What’s Wrong with the Women?, and The Daring Years—writing and producing each with a provocateur’s grin. Off-screen, he swapped vows twice: first with actress Alma Rubens, later with Winifred Spear. His final curtain fell in Wilmington, New Jersey, on 16 May 1957.
