Biography
A crisp autumn day—October 16, 1833—marked the arrival of Denman Thompson in Girard, Pennsylvania, a lakeside town that would later cheer the plays he penned. By 1914 he was guiding daredevil heroines as the scenarist of *The Hazards of Helen*, and the next year he invited audiences back to simpler times with *The Old Homestead*. A decade later, 1926 saw his name on the intertitles of *Sunshine of Paradise Alley*, proving his stories still flickered in the new era of talkies. Off-stage and off-screen, he shared life’s script with Maria Bolton. The final curtain fell on April 14, 1911, in West Swanzey, New Hampshire, but the reels and pages he left behind keep the lights up on his legacy.
