Biography
Douglas Bronston entered the world on 23 May 1887 in Richmond, Kentucky, and spent the next six decades feeding the flickering imaginations of the silent era. His typewriter rattled out Redheads Preferred (1926), The Thrill Hunter (1926) and Husband Hunters (1927)—three quick-fire hits that kept audiences leaning forward in their seats. When the final reel of his own life ran out on 9 July 1951, the curtain dropped in Santa Monica, California.
