Biography
Berlin, 19 September 1885: Ernst Reicher enters the world and, almost before the city can blink, steps onto its boards and into its flickering lights. Between 1920 and 1921 he gives life to three very different shadows—George Bully, the daredevil of Der Sprung ins Dunkle, and the eerie puzzle of Camera obscura—while also pulling the strings behind the camera as producer. Off-screen, Stella Harf stands beside him as wife and confidante. On 1 May 1936, far from his hometown, the Vltava rather than the Spree flows past his final breath in Prague, Czechoslovakia.
