Biography
Stockholm, 19 January 1885: the curtain rises on Ester Julin, a storyteller who traded footlights for pages and back again. In 1924 she stepped before the cameras as the lighthouse keeper’s wife in Där fyren blinkar, and two years later she doubled triumph with twin releases—penning and performing in both Lyckobarnen and Bröllopet i Bränna. On 29 April 1931 the final reel rolled; the city that first heard her cry lowered the lights on her 46-year performance.
