Biography
Born under the Capitol dome on 7 December 1882, Harry Chandlee traded the corridors of Washington, D.C. for the flicker of silver screens. He sharpened his pen as an editor, then let it roar as a writer, crafting the battlefields of Sergeant York (1941), the neon frenzy of Broadway Madness (1927), and the iron-willed drama of The Stronger Will (1928). Off-set, he shared his life with Edith Creel Spofford. The final reel rolled on 3 August 1956 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California.
