Biography
A river town on the Danube, Vilshofen, welcomed Heinrich Lautensack on 15 July 1881. While the century turned, he spun stories that leapt to the screen: the 1913 melodrama ‘Tween Heaven and Earth, the tender vignettes of Mutter und Kind, and the sharp suspense of Die Stricknadeln, both released in 1916. Barely three winters after the last reel rolled, he closed his final chapter in Eberswalde, Brandenburg, on 10 January 1919.
