Biography
Henrik Galeen was born on 7 January 1881 in Stryj, then part of Galicia in Austria‑Hungary. As a screenwriter and director he made a lasting impact with films such as the groundbreaking *Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror* (1922), the later reinterpretation *Nosferatu* (2024), and the pioneering fantasy *The Golem* (1914). He was married to Countess Ilse von Schenk and later to Elvira Adler. Galeen died on 30 July 1949 in Randolph, Orange County, Vermont, USA.
