Biography
Born 1 May 1884 in the farm-town quiet of Vergennes, Illinois, Hugh C. Weir slipped ink into sentences that found their way onto flickering screens. His stories powered Graft as early as 1915, kept 1918 audiences guessing Under Suspicion, and posed the awkward question What Shall We Do with Him? the following year. Three decades after his first reel unspooled, he took his final curtain in New York City on 16 March 1934.
