Biography
Brooklyn welcomed Isaac Henderson on 13 February 1850, and from that waterfront borough he launched a career that would carry him from newspaper desks to Broadway boards. In 1915 his play The Mummy and the Humming Bird fluttered onto cinema screens, proving his stories could outlast gaslight and greet the projector’s beam. Along the way he wed Marion Temple Brown, his steadfast collaborator in life’s drama. The final curtain fell on 31 March 1909, not in Manhattan but under the Roman sky of Lazio, Italy, where the Eternal City claimed the storyteller who had already given his mummy its own taste of immortality.
