Biography

Before words carried him across the globe, James Francis Dwyer was born in the shadow of Australia’s Blue Mountains. A postal worker by trade, he once spent his days sorting letters; by night he was already spinning the kinds of tales that would soon leap oceans. In 1915 two of his short stories—"Graft" and "The Spider"—were snatched up by Hollywood’s fledgling studios and spliced onto the silver screen, launching a writing career that spanned continents. Eleven years later, Bride of the Storm followed the same trajectory from page to projector, proving that the postman-turned-storyteller had an inexhaustible supply of cliff-hangers and storm-lit romance.
