Biography
A crisp autumn day in Copenhagen—9 October 1889—delivered Johanne Skram Knudsen into a city of cobblestones and candle-lit windows. By her early twenties she had traded ink for celluloid, scripting the 1913 short *The Princess’s Dilemma*, followed a year later by the street-urchin drama *Gatans barn*, and in 1915 exploring artists’ passions in *När konstnärer älska*. After the reels stopped turning, she returned to the quiet craft of words, leaving the world on 6 September 1971.
