Biography
A winter baby, Kenelm Foss drew his first breath in Croydon on 13 December 1885 and quickly traded suburban quiet for grease-paint and ink. Between treading boards and crafting scripts, he shaped the silent stories of Once Upon a Time (1918), steered All Roads Lead to Calvary (1921) to the screen, and breathed life into Dicky Monteith (1922). Off-set, he shared the spotlight—and a wedding ring—with actress Elisabeth Gilson. His final curtain fell in London on 28 November 1963, closing a life lived in footlights and flicker.
